Short Bio

I am currently a fifth year graduate student in the Computer Science Ph.D. program at Stanford University. My advisor is Professor Ron Fedkiw. I am also currently a consultant at LucasArts.

My primary research interests are in computer graphics, computer animation, and physical simulation. I am interested in creating realistic and responsive animations and simulations for numerous applications including video games and movies. I am particularly interested in the problem of creating detailed, large-scale simulations.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Carnegie Mellon University in December 2006 with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Political Science. At Carnegie Mellon I worked with Professor Jessica Hodgins.

I have also worked at various companies before starting graduate school. During the spring and summer of 2007 I worked for Pixar Animation Studios as a Production Engineering Intern. I worked on developing internal software in C/C++, Perl, Python, and Java. During the summer of 2005, I worked on ensuring the quality of IBM's AIX operating system by writing testing tools and a Java GUI front end in C/C++, Perl, Bash, and Java at IBM Corp. During the summer of 2004, I worked writing automated tests in Perl, Tcl/Expect, and Java, and I created a GUI interface using CGI and perl to allow everyone to run these tests at Ciena Corp. During the summers of 2002 and 2003, I worked writing automated testing scripts in Tcl/Expect and software controlling telecommunications equipment in C and Labview at Internet Photonics Inc.
